Further COVID-19 restrictions announced for Liverpool City region

New coronavirus restrictions are being brought in to Liverpool City Region from this weekend.

Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral, along with Warrington, will be brought in line with the latest measures announced on Monday in the north east.

From 00:01 on Saturday 3 October, residents must not meet anyone outside their household or bubble in any indoor setting, including private homes and gardens. These measures will be enforceable by law and subject to fines.

It is also recommended people do not meet with anyone outside their household or bubble in outdoor public spaces, such as parks and outdoor hospitality.

Schools and COVID-secure settings are not affected and remain open. Residents in these areas are also advised to only travel for essential reasons, such as going to work, or school and are encouraged to walk or cycle where possible.

Anyone with coronavirus symptoms - a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or loss of taste - should book a test at: www.111.nhs.uk/COVID-19 or call 119.

You can also download the new NHS COVID-19 app for Android and iOS, which allows people to report symptoms, order a coronavirus test, check in to venues by scanning a QR code and it helps the NHS trace individuals that have coronavirus.

Liverpool City Council’s Isolation Advice Line can help people who have been asked to self-isolate and have no means of support from friends, family, or neighbours. Call: 0151 233 3066 from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

If you have been invited for a flu vaccination, please attend your clinic as normal unless you are unwell or are self-isolating. Please make sure you wear a face covering to your appointment and follow social distancing.
